Coordinate System

Coordinate System is most important mathematical tool ( Or you can say Artificial tool ) to describe any physical phenomena that happing in space . Bassically coordinate systems are used to describe the position of an object in space.

Types of coordinate system : There are 3 special types of  coordinates system used in physics is given bellow..........

Cartesian Coordinate System : There are 3 type of cartesian coordinate system

1D Coordinate system

2D Coordinate system

3D Coordinate System

Polar Coordinate System : There are 2 type of polar coordinate system

2D Coordinate system

3D Coordinate system

Cylindrical Coordinate System

Let's discuss one by one ............

1D Coordinate system
This the most simplest form of coordinate system to describe any location of an object in space .

Let's discus this in simplest manner, consider you are moving in car which is moving in a stright road from South - North direction. In order to specify the location of your car we must define an "Origin" ,which will be our reference point of our coordinate system. Here, the origin of our coordinate system is your own Home ( See in Figure 1.1)

Now if you want to specify or describe the location or you can position  of your car to someone you need to describe how far you move from your Home ( The origin) by using a real number ,let's say it as x.When you start yor car from home ( origin) then your position is x=0.Now after some time pass you traveled some distance let's say x in positive direction .But here one thing that you must choose that what is your  positive or negative axis.

In or to describe 1D Coordinate system we need some parameters .......

        The location of the Origin
The direction in which the parameter or the coordinate x increase.
The unit in which we want to specify x ,it should be meter, centimeter .
